Sports Betting Data Quality Standards

A betting tool is only useful when the price it displays refers to the same bet a user can place. Bettor Odds treats event identity, market, participant, period, side and line as separate parts of that match.

Match the full market

A team name alone is not enough. A quote must agree on the event, market type, participant, game period, side and number before it can be compared as the same bet.

Keep alternates separate

A spread or total at a nearby number can be useful context, but it is not the same wager. Bettor Odds can show a nearby available number on an odds screen without letting it affect the best-price comparison.

Treat time as part of the quote

Pregame and live prices age differently. A live quote that has not refreshed quickly enough should not stay on the board as though it were current.

Use depth where it exists

Prediction-market prices can include available liquidity. The displayed price and the size available at that price are both relevant when deciding whether a market is actionable.
