Sportsbooks and Prediction Markets
Sportsbooks and prediction markets can both contribute price information, but they work differently. A sportsbook posts an offer; an exchange-style market can show a price together with available size.
Execution is different
Sportsbooks can accept, limit, move or suspend a price. Prediction markets can show orders with a limited amount available. Neither displayed number guarantees that the same amount can be placed.
Liquidity changes the interpretation
A quoted prediction-market price with little available size should be read differently from a deep two-sided market. Bettor Odds displays liquidity context where it is supplied.
Independent prices can add context
When a market is correctly matched and quality checked, independent prices can help estimate fair probability. Outlier and stale prices should be excluded rather than allowed to dominate the estimate.
Always verify before acting
Open the destination and confirm the line, price, jurisdiction and available amount. The market at checkout is the authoritative offer.
